Why ‘herekore’?

‘Herekore’ means freedom or liberty in Maori – the language of the indigenous people of New Zealand, where Herekore Equine began.

There is nothing like the freedom of being on horseback, and the delight that riding and caring for horses can bring. We wanted our courses to communicate some of this experience, giving people the freedom to study the animals they love with the flexibility they need. That’s why we chose a name that reflects this.

To us, herekore means being able to learn and grow in your understanding of horses at your own pace, from wherever you are, and according to the schedule that fits your lifestyle.
